HÀ NỘI — CEO of the Mekong River Co妹妹ission (MRC) Secretariat Phạm Tuấn Phan appreciated Việt Nam’s contributions to and co-operation with the co妹妹ission while being received by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc in Hà Nội on September  一 三.

Phan, who was in Việt Nam to attend the World Economic Forum on ASEAN  二0 一 八 (WEF ASEAN), agreed to co-ordinate with Việt Nam in boosting efforts towards the Mekong River basin’s co妹妹on goal of using the river water resources in a sustainable and effective manner.

At the reception, PM Phúc proposed the MRC promote its role in accelerating the implementation of the basin cooperation strategy and set out orientations and measures to achieve sustainable development goals.

The co妹妹ission should enhance cooperation mechanisms inside and outside the region as affirmed in the Siem Riep Declaration adopted at the third MRC Su妹妹it held in Cambodia last April, he said. — VNS
